Terms of Service

Welcome to AA Bill Split (“the App”, “we”, or “us”). These Terms govern your use of the App.

1. Service

1.1 Features

The App provides group expense splitting and ledger tools, including:

• Ledgers, members, bills, and split methods (equal, proportion, custom);
• Balances, settlement suggestions, reports, and activity history;
• Optional encrypted cloud sync, push alerts, and nearby (P2P) sync;
• Receipt OCR, gesture lock, in-app purchases (VIP), and ads as offered in the App.

1.2 Not a payment service

The App is a record-keeping and calculation tool. We do not hold funds or process payments between members. Settle amounts offline or through your own channels.

2. Account and data

• You may sign in or use anonymous mode. You are responsible for activity on your device.
• Data is stored locally unless you enable cloud sync. We are not liable beyond applicable law for loss due to network or device issues.
• You must use the App lawfully and not infringe others’ rights.

3. Acceptable use

You must not attack the service, access others’ data without permission, distribute malware, or use the App for illegal purposes. We may restrict or terminate access for violations.

4. Intellectual property

We own the App software and branding. You own content you create; you grant us a license to host, display, and sync it as needed to operate the service.

5. Disclaimer

Split results, settlement paths, OCR output, and reports are for reference only—not financial, tax, or legal advice. You assume risks from your inputs and decisions. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages; our total liability is limited to fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or USD/CNY equivalent of 100 if none).

6. Subscriptions and ads

• VIP purchases are billed by Apple App Store or Google Play; refunds and auto-renewal follow store policies.
• Use “Restore purchases” to recover entitlements on the same store account.
• Non-VIP users may see third-party ads.

7. Changes and termination

We may modify or discontinue features with notice where reasonable. We are not liable beyond law for outages due to maintenance, force majeure, etc.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Disputes shall be submitted to courts with jurisdiction at our location after good-faith negotiation.

9. Updates

We may revise these Terms in the App. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
